Resources - Out of Hours Learning

Kingsford Community School runs an extensive programme of Out of Hours Learning activities which include breakfast clubs, after school and weekend activities, with the study support for our pupils being the backbone of our after schools programme. There are also visits abroad, visits to outdoor activity centres around Britain and visits to theatres and galleries, both to perform and watch the arts.

We aim to cater for the differing needs of our pupils. The programme reflects curriculum led activities such as the homework club based in the LRC, study support for GCSE pupils, and booster sessions to help the preparation of our pupils for their national curriculum tests during year 9. There are also activities that enrich our pupil’s experience and offer new opportunities.

Examples of enrichment activities include the Karate, Basketball Club and Cheerleading, which the last two both have an external coach. There is a range of sporting activities, arts, drama, music clubs and our pupils have the opportunity to use our partner organisation the Beckton Globe who has activities taking place in their Youth Zone at the end of our school day.
