‘Learning for Life’ is the lesson each week in which the Personal Social Health Economic ( PSHE) Curriculum is taught to each year group throughout the school. This is taught by the pupils’ tutor through six units of work within which there are several linked topics. The units of work are

How do you ‘Enjoy and Achieve’ in school and at home?

In what ways can you try to ‘Be Healthy’ through your lifestyle choices?

How can you to ‘Stay Safe’ and be aware of the dangers in life?

What are the ‘Relationships’ you have in your life and how do you manage emotions?

What ‘Positive contribution’ can you make as a person in your community and wider Society?

Two consistent themes throughout the units of work are pupils Economic Wellbeing and Financial Capability which aim to help young people prepare for their future working life and role as active citizens in British Society. This aim is enhanced and incorporated into the curriculum through using resources recommended by the careers education, information, advice and guidance service (CEIAG). Outside speakers and visitors are encouraged into school to deliver aspects of all of the units of work where appropriate.
