Art and Design is an opportunity for pupils to develop their own personal sense of style, judgment and creativity through a series of different projects using different mediums.

At Key Stage three pupils will experience different projects relating to a series of developmental skills in drawing and use of different medias. The projects range include Identity, Manga and African Art. They will work on drawing skills whilst developing painting, three dimensional and printing skills.

At Key stage four pupils will complete three projects over three years, the titles of these projects are: Natural Forms, Cubism and Metamorphosis. For each of these projects pupils will have to produce a sketchbook of work with four to seven final pieces per project.

We currently use AQA Art and Design for GCSE Art, by using this examination board Art and Design results for GCSE have risen over the last two years and are currently 75% A-C.

We offer many extra curricular opportunities within the subject area, for example Art and Design runs clubs on Monday (Pottery KS3), Tuesday (GCSE Art and Design), Wednesday (Etching) and Thursday (Photoshop) after school.

We are very proud that work from Kingsford Students is shown in a variety of London galleries in the summer term including the October Gallery in Holborn and external artists come into school on a regular basis to work with pupils.
