The study of making in Textiles include:

• Development of practical skills using machines and hand stitching.
• Working in a safe environment.
• Taking into consideration material properties to guide material choices.
• Developing design skills to aid creativity
• Learning about CAD/CAM applications.
• Using technology to produce textile based products of a high standard.

These skills are currently explored through a variety of Focused Practical Tasks as mini introductory activities progressing with the making of stationary cases in year 7, progressing onto wall hangings in year 8.
