Applied Business Studies is an option based subject which we start to teach students from year 9, below are the results of our outstanding achievements throughout the 5 years.
When students learn business studies they also are given the opportunity to create a real life practical business within the school and learn about business planning and financial record keeping.

Applied Business will develop knowledge and understanding through investigating a local and a national or international business, investigate how employers and employees operate in enterprising ways, and develop and apply the following skills within business contexts: practical skills, presentational skills, personal and interpersonal skills, and cognitive skills.
Single Award consists of:
Unit 1 Investigating How Businesses Work is drawn mainly from the current unit 1 with some content from the current unit 2. It also highlights the theme of enterprise.
Unit 2 Financial Records is drawn from the current unit 3 Finance, uses the theme of recording past financial information to select topics, and introduces some new content (financial ratios).
Double Award consists of the single award units together with:
Unit 3 Investigating People, Business and Change draws its content from both the existing units 1 and 2, and develops some of the themes from the Single Award Unit 1.
Unit 4 Financial Planning and Forecasting is taken mainly from the existing Finance unit 3, using the theme of 'looking forward' in a financial context, and also develops some of the existing unit 3 content such as business budgets.
